The Local Public Sector Alliance is a global network of citizens, policy practitioners, government officials, scholars, and development professionals that seeks to elevate the debate on public sector decentralization and localization in order to promote inclusive, equitable societies and sustainable global development.
Decentralization.Net (Public access)
LPSA’s main website —Decentralization.Net— as well as most of LPSA’s activities are free and open to both members as well as non-members.
- Decentralization.Net provides access to the latest research, analysis, country studies, news reports, and other information on decentralization, local governance, and multilevel governance from around the world.
- D.Net also provides public access to knowledge resources developed by LPSA, including primers and guides, assessment methodologies, and regional and country profiles.
- D.Net also hosts LPSA’s Events Calendar, which allows you to sign up for upcoming meetings, including LPSA’s Working Group meeting.
Membership benefits
Most LPSA activities are publicly available and do not require you to join LPSA as a member. However, membership of the Local Public Sector Alliance is free, and there are a number of advantages to registering as a Global LPSA member.
Newsletter (Member only)
Registering as a member of the Local Public Sector Alliance allows us to send you LPSA’s bi-monthly newsletter. If you only want to receive the newsletter —-but do not want to be included in our online member directory–select the Private Membership option. (You can always switch to the Global Membership option later).
Member Profile / Online Directory (Member only)
Registering as a Global Member of the Local Public Sector Alliance allows you to create a member profile and publicly share your experience and expertise as part of LPSA’s online member directory. LPSA’s Member Directory allows colleagues in the community of practice to contact you (without us disclosing your email address), enabling others to learn from your experiences and expertise in decentralization and local governance.
Selecting LPSA Working Groups (Member only)
Membership enables you to select what regional or thematic working groups you would like to receive updates from.
Forums (Member only)
LPSA Members can access member-only Discussion Forums. Forum topics are generally linked to global regions or working group thematic areas.
Online Courses (Member only)
Registering as a member of the Local Public Sector Alliance will allow you direct access to LPSA’s online courses.
